Adapt curriculum and instructional methods to support students with autism spectrum disorders, neurodevelopmental disorders, and other developmental disabilities. Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive behavior management techniques and behavioral therapy strategies to create a safe learning environment. Collaborate with speech therapists, occupational therapists, and other specialists to support communication skills and speech therapy goals. Conduct assessments using standardized testing tools to monitor progress and inform instructional adjustments. Maintain detailed documentation of student progress, IEP goals, behavioral reports, and communication with families to ensure transparency and accountability. Skills Proven experience working with children with disabilities, including autism spectrum disorders and developmental disabilities. Strong knowledge of special education laws, IEP development, and classroom management strategies for students with special needs. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues, families, and specialists. Proficiency in curriculum development, lesson planning, and integrating educational technology into lessons. Ability to implement behavioral health techniques and behavioral therapy approaches in classroom settings. Experience working with early childhood education principles, preschool settings, or Montessori methods is a plus.
