About LEARN Founded in 2001, LEARN is a network of high-performing college preparatory, tuition-free public elementary and middle schools with the mission of providing children with the academic foundation and ambition to earn a college degree. Roles and Responsibilities As a Diverse Learning Teacher, your critical tasks will include: Planning and delivering differentiated instruction to children with special needs based on the identified goals of IEPs Implementing ongoing assessments to develop and revise IEP goals as necessary Assisting instructors in developing interventions for students Maintaining updated and accurate reports Delivering ongoing parent communication Facilitating school based problem solving meetings Coordinating evaluations and supervising the referral process and IEP development Ensuring timely delivery of internal and/ or contracted services Ensuring ongoing compliance with Illinois State Law and CPS regulations while maintaining regular communication with CPS Office of Specialized Services Providing direct services as needed to Special Education students Demonstrating effective classroom management skills that contributes to a positive learning environment Collaborating with peers and a willingness to grow professionally Understanding how to use data to improve instruction and academic outcomes Qualifications This job is a great fit if: You have a degree in Special Education and Illinois LBS I certification (required) You have a demonstrated track record of delivering gains in student academic achievement You have a demonstrated record of living LEARN's Core Values You are Highly Qualified according to ISBE Preferred Qualifications This job is an ideal fit if: You are bilingual Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Personal Characteristics To succeed as a Diverse Learning Teacher, you demonstrate our core values by setting high expectations for yourself and our scholars, along with bringing a high level of energy and consistently positive attitude.
