Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related field Active Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) endorsement Familiarity with current instructional methodologies and educational practices Understanding of child development principles and best practices in special education Previous teaching experience highly valued Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to work closely with students, parents, and staff
Responsibilities:
Manage and support an elementary-level caseload, adapting instruction to diverse learning needs Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) Ensure compliance with IDEA guidelines and Illinois state regulations Collaborate with colleagues, administration, and families to provide holistic student support Maintain detailed records, assess student progress, and adjust strategies as needed Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment to help every student thrive
