Qualifications and Experience:
Certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) Proven experience working with school-aged children who are visually impaired Deep understanding of Braille instruction and assistive technology Ability to develop and adapt individualized education plans (IEPs) Excellent communication and collaboration skills Knowledge of current instructional strategies and legal requirements for visually impaired students
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct instruction to students with visual impairments across a variety of grade levels Assess and adjust teaching strategies to meet each student's unique needs Collaborate with classroom teachers and other specialists to ensure accessibility and inclusion Support the use of adaptive technology and materials Consult with families to promote learning carryover at home Maintain accurate records and progress reports Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to team-based educational planning
