Job Description

Step into a rewarding opportunity focused on shaping the academic and personal growth of middle school students as a Special Education Teacher. This contract role serves both a vibrant learning environment at two neighboring middle schools, supporting 8th-grade students through co-taught and resource classes. You'll divide your time evenly between two schools, conveniently located just five minutes apart, ensuring a dynamic and varied teaching experience.

Key Qualifications:

Valid Special Education Teaching certificate (LBSI required) Proven expertise in resource support and individualized instruction for middle school learners Comfortable working independently, as well as collaborating in a co-teaching environment Experience supporting students with diverse learning needs Strong organizational and communication skills Commitment to fostering an inclusive, positive classroom atmosphere

Core Responsibilities:

Provide tailored instruction in both co-taught and resource settings for 8th-grade students (resource groups: 8-10 students) Collaborate closely with general education teachers to modify curriculum and deliver effective co-teaching Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) Monitor and document student progress toward academic and social-emotional goals Communicate regularly with families and educational team members Maintain a safe, engaging classroom where every student can thrive

Role Details & Schedule:

Contract position starting August 17, 2026, and ending May 28, 2027•

Hours:

7:20 am - 2:50 pm (M, T, Th, F) and 7:20 am - 3:05 pm (W) 35 hours per week, with a 30-minute lunch each day Must be present at both middle school campuses, easily accessible within a five-minute drive If you're passionate about supporting middle schoolers and ready for a contract opportunity where your expertise in special education can make a real impact, apply today!
