Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Take the next step in your special education career by supporting students as a resource room teacher in a full-time, in-person role. From August 17, 2026, through May 27, 2027, you'll have the rewarding opportunity to empower learners and collaborate with a passionate school community. This contract position is based near Zion, IL, working approximately 33.25 hours per week.
Qualifications:
Active Professional Educator License (PEL) required; please be prepared to provide a copy with your application Experience as a Special Education Teacher in a resource room or similar setting, preferred Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills
Responsibilities:
Provide specialized instruction in a resource room environment for students with diverse needs Develop and execute effective lesson plans tailored to individual education plans (IEPs) Monitor student progress and maintain comprehensive, up-to-date records Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and administrators to support student success Foster a supportive, inclusive atmosphere that encourages students' academic and social development Engage in ongoing professional development to remain current on best practices in special education Imagine guiding and inspiring students to reach their full potential while working within a supportive team environment.
