https://www.applitrack.com/southmontschools/onlineapp/ Position Overview Southmont Junior High School is seeking a compassionate, organized, and dedicated Special Education Teacher to cover a maternity leave for the opening weeks of the 2026-2027 school year. The ideal candidate will be ready to establish a supportive, structured environment from day one, ensuring our students with diverse learning needs experience a seamless and successful transition into the new school year.
Key Responsibilities Instructional Support:
Deliver modified lessons, specialized instruction, and accommodations tailored to student needs in inclusive, resourceful, or self-contained settings.
IEP Management:
Review, implement, and maintain compliance for existing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Classroom Management:
Foster a safe, positive, and predictable learning environment that accommodates various behavioral and academic needs.
Collaboration:
Partner closely with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff to ensure all student accommodations are met.
Progress Monitoring:
Collect data, monitor student progress toward goals, and maintain clear communication with parents and school administration.
Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field required.
Licensure:
Valid State Teaching License in Special Education (Mild/Moderate or Intense Intervention, depending on specific student needs) is highly preferred .
Skills:
Strong understanding of IDEA regulations, experience with IEP implementation, excellent patience, and strong collaborative skills.
