Job Description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A full-time, full school year opportunity is available for an Elementary Resource Special Education Teacher in Monrovia, IN. This role focuses on delivering specialized instruction in an elementary resource classroom for kindergarten and first-grade students. The position requires dedication to supporting students with diverse learning needs and fostering an inclusive educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide specialized instruction and support tailored to individual student needs in a K-1 resource classroom Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) aligned with state standards and student goals Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to promote student success Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as necessary Maintain accurate records and comply with all state and federal regulations related to special education
Qualifications:
Valid Indiana Special Education Teaching License is required Experience working with elementary-aged students, preferably in K-1 resource settings Strong knowledge of special education laws, instructional strategies, and assessment methods Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues Commitment to fostering a positive classroom environment that supports diverse learners
