Now accepting applications for a Middle School Special Education Maternity Leave Sub beginning August 2026. The Middle School Special Education Teacher Maternity Leave Sub is responsible for the support of middle school students with identified disabilities and academic needs while working collaboratively with Middle school teachers. The Middle School Special Education Teacher Maternity Leave Sub serves as a member of the Student Services team and is responsible for actively supporting the mission, vision, and promotion of Crown Point Christian School. Qualifications Experience, Training, and Licensure Bachelor Degree or higher in Special Education from an accredited college or university Indiana teaching license for the grade level taught Professional Profile Must demonstrate personal faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior Active member/regular attendee of a Bible-believing church Passion to help students achieve their God-given potential Commitment to excellence in work Excellent communication skills Strong technology skills Ability to work in a team environment Responsibilities Planning and Instruction Provide special education and academic support services to students in 6th to 8th grade, Develop lessons and provide instruction using research based interventions that are suitable to meet the individual's desired outcomes. Incorporate various teaching strategies to include different learning styles. Attend team data meetings. Organize intervention times well with activities that have a clear purpose and engage students' attention. Provide needed additional materials/strategies for general education teachers to use in the classroom for students with identified needs. Organize time, space, procedures and materials for effective, efficient learning. Communication Facilitate communication with parents and classroom teachers to set and monitor student goals. Provide support to general education teachers regarding academic strategies for identified students. Communicate with and support paraprofessionals who are implementing student plans. Fulfill responsibilities of progress monitoring for assigned students. Regularly report progress to parents and teachers through quarterly progress reports. Professional Conduct and Growth Establish a climate of care and love for students. Clearly define what is responsible Christian behavior for students. Maintain teacher certification and strive to advance your degree. Articulate and integrate Christian faith into teaching and relationship with others. Other Duties Assist classroom teachers with universal screenings. Collaborate with students, parents and other members of staff to update and develop annual Choice Special Education Plans and 504 plans. Attend and participate in 504, Individual Education Plan and Choice Special Educational Plan meetings. Communicates student learning plans to all staff who work with middle school students.
