Moderate Disability Teacher Position Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Moderate Disability Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will hold an Indiana State Teaching License in the area of Mild Interventions (or approved related license) and will be responsible for supporting students with moderate disabilities within the K-5 grade levels. This role involves developing individualized education programs (IEPs), implementing specialized instruction, and collaborating with general education teachers, parents, and other support staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs Provide direct instruction to students with moderate disabilities in a variety of settings Collaborate with general education teachers to support special education students and promote inclusive practices Use evidence-based practices to enhance student learning and achievement Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instruction as needed to ensure continuous improvement Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to provide updates on student progress and involve them in the educational process Work with other school staff, including special education coordinators, therapists, and counselors, to provide comprehensive support for students. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance and IEP implementation.
Qualifications:
Valid Indiana State Teaching License in the area of Mild Interventions. Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred). Experience working with elementary-aged children with moderate disabilities. Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation.
