Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Kick off an exciting contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher for the upcoming school year. This full-time assignment will have you working with dedicated students in both middle and high school settings, offering you the chance to make a meaningful impact while growing your career in special education. You'll join a collaborative environment where your expertise and passion for supporting exceptional learners are truly valued. What you'll need to bring: Active Kansas Special Education teaching license Experience working with middle or high school students preferred Strong ability to manage diverse caseloads and adapt instruction for varied student needs Excellent communication skills with students, parents, and multidisciplinary teams Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning atmosphere Your role includes: Delivering individualized and small group instruction aligned with students' IEP goals Collaborating with general education staff to ensure accommodations and modifications are implemented effectively Engaging in ongoing progress monitoring, data collection, and reporting Participating in IEP meetings and parent conferences as required Developing creative approaches and interventions to promote student growth and skill development Maintaining open and positive communication with families and school personnel This contract position spans from August 19, 2026 to May 20, 2027 and is exclusively onsite, covering both a middle school and high school within the Emporia-area community.
