Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a real impact supporting students as a Special Education Teacher in a welcoming school environment. This full-time, onsite contract opportunity spans the 2026-2027 academic year and involves serving exceptional middle and high school learners at two local schools. Bring your dedication, enthusiasm, and expertise to create positive outcomes for students, collaborating with supportive colleagues and fostering a dynamic educational atmosphere.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Current Kansas Special Education teaching license required Experience working with students with diverse learning needs preferred Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to adapt instruction for individual students and small groups Organizational skills for managing documentation and IEPs Commitment to ongoing professional growth
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to students' strengths and needs Provide direct instruction and support in a variety of inclusive and resource settings Collaborate with classroom teachers, paras, and families to promote student success Employ evidence-based strategies and interventions for academic, behavioral, and social goals Maintain accurate records and participate in annual reviews, meetings, and evaluations Foster a positive, inclusive classroom culture where all students feel valued
