Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding, full-time role supporting elementary students' growth in a dedicated special education classroom. This contract opportunity offers three open positions within a highly regarded LIFT program, focusing on individualized instruction and support for students with unique learning needs. With a manageable caseload of 8 students per classroom, you'll play a vital part in helping students achieve their academic and personal goals in a supportive environment.
Key Qualifications:
Hold an active Kansas Low Incidence Special Education License Experience working with elementary-age students preferred Comfortable developing and implementing IEPs, collaborating with staff and families Strong interpersonal skills and adaptability in a collaborative school-based setting Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive classroom culture
Responsibilities:
Provide specialized instruction to a small group of elementary students, adapting lessons as needed Design, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) Foster an encouraging, positive atmosphere to promote progress and independence Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and parents to support student learning and behavior Participate in program development, progress monitoring, and ongoing professional learning Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with all documentation requirements
