Job Description:

Essential Duties:

Preschool Lead Teachers are responsible for direct interaction with the children in games, activities and free play, along with ensuring the general health, welfare and well-being of each child as well as some lesson planning. Lead teachers need to be active participants with the children enrolled; and effective communicators with parents, children, supervisors and co-workers.

Hourly Rate:

$16.50 per hour

Supervisory Responsibilities:

No This position is also responsible for the supervision and leadership of employees, which includes making employment-related decisions and/or recommendations, and formally evaluating performance. Job Requirements:

Minimum Job Requirements:

High School diploma or GED Minimum age is 18 years and older Early childhood education courses preferred or a

Child Development Certificate Professional Experience:

6 months experience in licensed preschool setting is required

Required Skills:

Patient, good with children, good communication skills and flexible. Works well with others.

Preferred Job Requirements:

Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Psychology, or other relevant degree preferred

Education/Experience Substitutions:

Yes Experience may be substituted for degree. Yes Education may be substituted for experience. JCPRD requires reference/background screening for all positions. Specified criteria may vary by Department.
