  • Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding role supporting students' unique learning needs across elementary, middle, and high school environments.
This contract opportunity runs from August 2026 through May 2027 and offers positions spanning K-12, including placements in both traditional and alternative school program settings. As a Special Education Teacher, you'll play a pivotal role in cultivating an inclusive atmosphere and advocating for every student's success. Opportunities are available across multiple grade levels:
  • 10 positions at the elementary level
  • 5 openings in middle school
  • 4 roles at high school
  • 2 placements in a Bridges program for students with severe behaviors
Qualifications & Requirements:
Valid and active Kansas teaching license for your grade level assignment—must be presented and verified prior to district placement Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher is preferred; candidates with varying levels of experience are encouraged to apply Strong classroom management and individualized instructional planning skills Ability to communicate effectively with students, families, and staff Dedication to fostering a supportive, adaptive, and engaging learning environment
Role Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and adapt individualized education plans (IEPs) Collaborate with general education teachers, service providers, and administrators Provide direct instructional support in academic and functional skills Collect data, track progress, and adjust strategies to meet evolving student needs Promote student advocacy and social-emotional growth This is a chance to make a tangible difference in students' daily lives within a collaborative school community.
