A Special Education Teacher teaches students who have disabilities, and adapts teaching methods to meet the needs of students. Assesses students and helps to develop individualized education plans that specify the services and accommodations needed for each student. Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.

Job Description

Schedule:

Friday Night - 9pm to morning (night respite shifts pay at $21.15

Saturdays and Sundays :

- 7am-7pm (12 hour shift). Hours may be somewhat flexible (6am-6pm, or 8am to 8pm). May be able to stay longer if desired.

Weekdays :

Occasional weekday hours may be available due to other caregivers being out Roughly 30 hours available.

Pay Rate:

$26.50 per hour We are looking for a caregiver in Elizabethtown, KY to provide personal assistance/caregiving services for an adult man with special needs, specifically Angelman Syndrome. The ideal candidate is someone who is caring, energetic, creative, and flexible. We are looking for someone with professional caregiving experience. Personal Assistance enables this individual to accomplish tasks with assistance that he cannot do independently due to his disability. Personal Assistance tasks include, but are not limited to all daily living tasks (dressing, teeth brushing, bathing, grooming, preparing meals, eating, toileting, reminding, observing, guiding or training during various activities; assistance in medication administration; and transportation to access community services, activities and appointments. Employees will be required to complete Medicaid's regulatory requirements, including yearly TB screenings, an online training, and submitting car insurance & drivers license.
