Job Description

Category Schools - Visually Impaired Teacher - Telehealth Job Type Contract A full-time position is available for a visually impaired teacher specializing in telehealth services, supporting students across multiple schools. This itinerant role involves providing specialized instruction and therapy to a total of 15 students within 8 different school settings, with a focus on meeting individual needs through teletherapy and direct support.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver telehealth and teletherapy services tailored to students with visual impairments. Provide orientation and mobility (O&M) services to 5 students requiring these specialized supports. Conduct braille instruction for at least one student needing this specialized literacy skill. Support one homebound student through remote educational services. Collaborate with educators and support staff to develop effective individualized education plans (IEPs). Travel among 8 schools to ensure consistent and comprehensive service delivery. Maintain detailed records of student progress and communicate regularly with caregivers and school personnel.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

Certification or licensure in teaching visually impaired students or speech-language pathology. Experience with teletherapy platforms and delivering remote instruction. Proven ability to work independently while managing multiple schools and students. Knowledge of orientation and mobility techniques and braille instruction. Strong organizational and communication skills specific to educational environments.

Location:

Based in Grayson, KY, with travel required to multiple schools within the district. This position offers a 37.5-hour workweek with a contract commitment, ideal for educators dedicated to enhancing learning opportunities for students with visual impairments through innovative telehealth methods and itinerant teaching.
