Job Description

Category Schools - Deaf / Hard of Hearing Specialist Job Type Contract Bring your expertise in supporting students who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing to a rewarding contract assignment near Newport, KY! This is an outstanding opportunity for a dedicated professional to make a lasting impact on the academic journey of children and adolescents from PreK through 12th grade. You'll work directly with a manageable caseload of 8 students, providing specialized instruction that fosters both communication skills and self-advocacy. Your assignment begins August 10, 2026, and runs through May 24, 2027, offering 30 to 40 hours per week—ideal for those who thrive in a school-based environment and value work-life balance.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Valid certification as a Deaf and Hard of Hearing Specialist or Licensed Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing Experience working with PreK-12 grade students preferred Strong understanding of diverse communication modalities, including ASL and speech reading Excellent collaboration skills for coordinating with general education staff, families, and specialists Passion for individualized education and advocacy for students with hearing differences
Key Responsibilities:
