Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team at Viper Elementary. This full-time position involves working with students who have diverse learning needs, providing individualized instruction, and creating a supportive and inclusive classroom environment. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering the academic, social, and emotional growth of each student, ensuring they reach their full potential. Responsibilities Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the unique needs of each student. Provide direct instruction and support to students with varying disabilities in both one-on-one and small group settings. Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and support staff to create an inclusive learning environment. Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed to ensure academic success. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and any concerns. Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and IEP documentation. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in special education practices. Advocate for students' needs and rights within the school and community. Create a positive and nurturing classroom atmosphere that promotes respect and inclusivity among all students. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field; Master's degree preferred. Valid state teaching certification in Special Education. Experience working with students with disabilities in an educational setting is highly desirable. Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with other educators, parents, and support staff. Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping students succeed. Proficiency in using technology and educational software to enhance learning. Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with best practices in special education.
