Special Education Teacher LAP Program Brennan Middle School Start Date:
August 25, 2026 Salary - Certified Teacher Per Diem Rate $230.00 per day This program provides a highly-structured environment that emphasizes academic skill development including reading, mathematics, written language, expressive/receptive communication, problem-solving and organization. At least 60 percent of the student's day is spent in the general education setting with peers. Services are delivered outside of the general education classroom.
JOB GOAL/PURPOSE
To ensure that students with an IEP receive services in accordance with federal and state laws and regulations. Provides support through MTSS to benefit all students.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Addresses the needs of diverse learners in accordance with Federal and State laws and regulations. Uses evidence-based research and continuing education to address MA frameworks and to meet licensure requirements. Performs other responsibilities as deemed appropriate and assigned by a supervisor and/or designee. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiated instruction based upon student learning styles. Knowledge of middle school curriculum and concepts, including all subject matters taught. Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis and the formulation of action plans. Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students. Ability to use computer network system and software applications as needed. Ability to organize and coordinate work. Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents. Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others. Qualifications Profile Appropriate Massachusetts Teacher Certification/License Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to provide own transportation. Education Bachelors from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment. Masters Degree preferred
