Are you looking for a fun, part-time job with a regular weekend schedule? Are you a techie at heart who is also an extrovert who enjoys being the emcee or host? Do you think you would enjoy teaching, coaching, and working with kids and families? If you said yes, then consider joining The Robo Hub as a Youth Party Host. At The Robo Hub we will provide amazing, tech-oriented birthday parties where everyone has fun and one special kid makes a memory that lasts a lifetime. You don't have to be an engineer to run these parties! We'll train you on any technology you need to know, so we just need you to be excited to learn. With larger groups you will have the support of other Birthday Party Teachers. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that every child has fun and all of the adults can relax and enjoy watching our agreed upon plan unfold smoothly. This role requires a mix of enthusiasm, patience, organization, and flexibility harnessed together to ensure we deliver a truly memorable experience. The schedule for this role is mostly weekends and afternoons, although other times may be available. All events will take place at our center at 86A Sherman St, Cambridge.
About you:
You should have: Experience working with large groups of school-aged children An outgoing attitude, flexible approach to dealing with the unexpected, and comfort speaking in front of groups Experience with ANY of the following: engineering, robotics, coding, digital animation, or 3D CAD modeling Strong customer service skills with both children and adults Strong organizational skills (you probably LOVE a good checklist) The ability to move around for extended periods throughout your shift, and lift and carry objects up to 30 lbs. The ability to pass a background check in keeping with guidelines set by the MA Department of Early Education and Care (EEC). Have or be prepared to obtain First AID and CPR Certifications Reliable means of transportation to our location in
Cambridge Core Responsibilities:
As a Birthday Party Teacher you will be expected to: Under supervision, coordinate with the customers to plan and personalize the party for their specific interests. Plan and prepare all necessary materials, equipment, decorations, seating, food areas, and activity stations, make the space welcoming and comfortable. Communicate with customers as needed during the planning stage to ensure a superior customer experience Greet guests and ensure that they feel welcome in the space and able to find what they need. Make sure that the party runs on time so no special moments are missed and that everyone is aware of what they can expect. Coordinate the serving of food and beverages, ensuring that provided dietary restrictions are handled appropriately. (This job does not require any cooking or handling raw foods) Clean up the space after the event so that it is ready to be used for the next program. Update our party materials inventory and alert the team when new supplies should be purchased. Support the promotion and booking of events Expect to: Have a regular weekend schedule and communicate any absences or conflicts in advance. Master all training and orientation materials. Help train others as you gain experience. Engage sincerely in feedback cycles regarding strengths and areas of improvement, including collecting customer feedback Stay engaged with visitors throughout the entire duration of the party Maintain a professional appearance and attitude at all times, including not using electronic devices for personal purposes as you work The Robo Hub is an emerging community center focused on cultivating an inter-generational space for exciting STEAM programming.
