A certification in Severe Disabilities is preferred, but certifications in Moderate Disabilities will be considered.

Essential responsibilities:
  • Provide specialized instruction to students in a Special Education setting
  • Have a strong understanding of developmental milestones and modified curriculum at the elementary level
  • Experience and general understanding of the concepts of Applied Behavioral Analysis
  • Experience with being part of the instructional support team, including classroom teachers, auxiliary support service providers, BCBA and paraprofessionals
  • Experience with IEP drafting and progress monitoring through the collection of data
  • Experience with assessment and eligibility determination
  • Strong organization, writing and communication skillsOther responsibilities:
  • Abide by state statutes, school board policies and regulations.
  • Attend meetings and perform duties as assigned by administrators or supervisors.
  • Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulation.
  • Remain current on instructional practices in education.
