Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year near Fitchburg, MA. This position begins August 27th and offers the chance to make a real difference in the lives of students who need your dedication and expertise. Successful candidates will bring a passion for student-centered instruction and a solid understanding of individualized learning plans (IEPs). You will collaborate with faculty, families, and support staff to create adaptive learning strategies that facilitate growth and achievement for every student.
Qualifications:
Valid Special Education Teacher certification for the state Demonstrated knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and monitoring Strong classroom management skills Familiarity with a variety of teaching strategies and assistive technologies Effective communication skills for working with students, families, and colleagues Commitment to fostering a supportive, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment Experience as a Special Education Teacher preferred
Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs tailored to students' unique needs Deliver targeted instruction and interventions, both one-on-one and in small groups Collaborate in multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic student support Track progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly Advocate for student needs, ensuring access to resources and accommodations Maintain accurate records and communication with families and stakeholders Engage in ongoing professional development This is your opportunity to make a long-lasting impact as part of a dedicated educational community for the full 2026-2027 school year in a contract role.
