A Special Education Teacher teaches students who have disabilities, and adapts teaching methods to meet the needs of students. Assesses students and helps to develop individualized education plans that specify the services and accommodations needed for each student. Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.

What Our Teachers Do:
Provide meaningful educational opportunities tailored to the individual needs of each student, using a strengths-based approach. Complete formal and informal assessments to inform instruction and track student progress. Write and implement IEPs and lesson plans aligned with each student's goals, modifying academic content and providing accommodations as needed. Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals, academic growth, and skill development. Train and supervise classroom staff , ensuring consistency in instructional approaches and behavior support plans. Collaborate regularly with related service providers , including Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, and BCBAs, to support holistic student growth. Maintain regular and open communication with parents and guardians , fostering a strong school-home partnership.

Salary:

The Head Teacher is responsible for the education of the students in their classroom of five students.
