Teacher of the Deaf Willie Ross School for the Deaf - 3.9 Longmeadow, MA Job Details Full-time $46,095 - $85,646 a year 1 day ago Qualifications Collaborate with healthcare professionals Report writing Learning technology Student record keeping Mid-level Teaching special education Curriculum implementation Personnel management in education Lesson planning Classroom Teaching IEP implementation Collaborative teaching K-12 education instructional development Full Job Description Teacher of the Deaf We are seeking a qualified Teacher of the Deaf to provide a comprehensive educational program for students who are deaf and hard of hearing; to implement individual educational plans within the schools curricular framework; and to subscribe to and support the schools mission. Primary Duties Assess and evaluate the educational needs of each child and plan an appropriate educational program. Instruct students in all academic areas as assigned. Participate in the writing of each childs educational plan and attend team reviews. Supervise and evaluate instructional assistants. Provide written quarterly progress reports and report cards as appropriate. Participate in workshops and other in-service training sessions as scheduled during specified school hours. Work effectively with the Speech-Language Pathologist, Educational Audiologist, and all related service providers. Work with other teacher(s) or Instructional Assistant in a team situation. Implement and use technology as appropriate to enhance curricula. Maintain records and reports for each child. Maintain regular parent communication. Responsible for short and long-term planning of daily lessons and activities and for providing written plans and schedules for substitute teachers.
