Assesses students and helps to develop individualized education plans that specify the services and accommodations needed for each student. Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.

POSITION
Special Education Teacher Eames Way Elementary School
STARTING DATE
September 2026 (teachers begin Tuesday, September 1, 2026) or as soon as possible
SALARY:
Teacher Salary Schedule
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP OR LINE OF AUTHORITY
Reports directly to Building Principal and Assistant Superintendent Student Services
QUALIFICATIONS
Master's preferred.
MA DESE License:
Teacher of Students with Moderate Disabilities (Pre K-8). Experience working with students with diverse academic, social-emotional, and/or behavioral needs. Ability to develop and implement behavioral plans and Individualized Education Programs. Expertise in administering and analyzing special education evaluations Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to collaborate with families and colleagues. SEI Endorsement preferred.
