Provide a safe and collaborative learning environment for all students.
Engage families and community members as necessary.
Collaborate with colleagues and engage in reflective practice.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with school personnel and students.
Communicate clearly and concisely in both oral and written form.
Contribute to an overall school culture where ongoing personal and professional development is valued.
Collaborate with educators on support plans or studentsEstablish and maintain effective working relationships with school personnel and students. Ensure that those strategies used support Melroses curriculum goals.
Provide personalized reading instruction to students targeting needs as a central figure in the Multi-Tiered System of Support through in-class groups and pull-out groups.
Offer targeted interventions to help struggling readers improve their reading skills, collaborating with other staff for a cohesive approach.
Collect, analyze, and report on data on student progress.
Manage and organize reading materials, resources, and tools to support effective instruction, providing in-class support to teachers.
Work collaboratively with the building and district leadership to implement consistent approaches to reading instruction.
Ability to work in a normal classroom, office, and school building environment.
Ability to move freely about the building to perform duties with staff.
Ability to utilize computers and other administrative technologies appropriate to the position.

Certification in multi-sensory systematic reading instruction (Wilson/Orton-Gillingham) preferredHighly qualified with required competency in the content area; andAppropriate content/ program area educator license or eligible for licensure from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education; andBachelor's Degree with appropriate license; orMasters Degree with appropriate content area license preferred and/or expected within 5 yearsExcellent written and oral communication skills.Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check (C.O.R.I.) and fingerprint check.
