Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.

Position:
Special Education Math Teacher Description:
Provide direct math instruction aligned with Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks to middle and/or high school students with IEPs. Design and implement engaging, trauma-sensitive, and differentiated math lessons that accommodate diverse learning profiles. Use data-driven instruction and progress monitoring tools to inform instructional decisions and support IEP goals. Collaborate with special educators, related service providers, and support staff to provide integrated instruction and promote student success. Participate in IEP development, progress reporting, and team meetings. Foster a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom culture grounded in respect, empathy, and high expectations. Utilize evidence-based practices to support students with learning disabilities, ADHD, autism, anxiety, and emotional/behavioral disorders. Maintain accurate documentation, records, and communication with families and team members.Location:

Master's degree in Education with concentration in Math Education or Special Education. Valid Massachusetts Mathematics Teaching License Teaching experience, including working with students with learning and social-emotional disabilities. Strong understanding of trauma-informed practices, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), and differentiated instruction. Experience with behavior intervention plans and multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) preferred. Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. I hope to connect soon!
