Teacher for the Visually Impaired | Methuen, Massachusetts Soliant - 3.9 Methuen, MA Job Details Part-time | Full-time | Contract $35.25 - $60.25 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Classroom experience Sensory impairments support Full Job Description Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. A well-established school collaborative seeks a dedicated educator specializing in teaching children who are visually impaired. This contract opportunity is ideal for passionate professionals eager to provide onsite support to students and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team throughout the academic year.
Key Qualifications:
Active Visually Impaired (VI) Teacher License from Massachusetts (MA DOE) required Success on MTELs (Massachusetts Tests for Educator Licensure) Experience working with visually impaired students in a school setting is highly valued Strong communication, adaptability, and organizational skills Commitment to fostering student independence and engagement
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver specialized instruction to visually impaired students, adapting curriculum and materials Assess and monitor student progress, developing individualized educational plans Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and families to facilitate student success Provide training and guidance on assistive technology and classroom accommodations Promote self-advocacy and functional life skills in students Maintain accurate records and comply with all state and school guidelines
Position Details:
