Job Description
Lower School Learning Specialist, Grades 3-6 Long-term Substitute August 26, 2026 - January 25, 2027
Description:
We seek a dynamic, flexible, and creative individual who loves teaching and understands how to engage elementary and middle-school-age children in learning. As a member of Fay's Learning Services Department, this teacher will collaborate with colleagues to support the learning needs of the Lower School students. This is a temporary position that is not eligible for benefits. The daily pay rate is $215.Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have at least two years of teaching experience and hold a bachelor's degree in special education or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.Responsibilities include:
Delivering strategy-based academic support to students with documented learning differences, including executive functioning skills, writing, reading comprehension, and problem-solving. Provide both one-on-one instruction and push-in classroom support to reinforce learning and skill development. Actively support and promote a school culture of equity, inclusion, and belonging. Supporting the mission, philosophy, and core values of the School Utilizing technology to enhance instruction and learning Collaborate with the Director of Learning Services and classroom teachers to implement accommodations aligned with students' learning profiles. Communicate effectively with families and lead or participate in conferences as needed. Equip teachers with insights into students' learning profiles, including observational data on student experience and performance. Attending grade-level team and department meetings.
