Compensation:
$70,000-$80,000 annualized equivalent Position Summary This school is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Math Teacher to provide instructional coverage during a maternity leave. This approximately 12-week assignment offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students while working within a collaborative and supportive educational environment. The Special Education Math Teacher will deliver mathematics instruction, support students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), monitor academic progress, and collect required student performance data to ensure compliance with special education requirements. Essential Responsibilities Deliver engaging and differentiated math instruction aligned with Massachusetts curriculum standards. Adapt lessons and instructional strategies to meet the needs of students with varying learning abilities and educational goals. Implement accommodations and modifications outlined in students' IEPs. Collect, monitor, and document student progress data for IEP reporting and compliance purposes. Maintain accurate records related to student achievement, behavior, and attendance. Foster a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment. Collaborate with special education staff, related service providers, administrators, and families. Participate in team meetings and contribute to student support planning. Utilize classroom management strategies that promote student engagement and success. Qualifications Required Valid Massachusetts DESE License in Mathematics. Bachelor's Degree in Education, Mathematics, Special Education, or a related field. Ability to collect and analyze student data for IEP progress monitoring. Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills. Preferred Experience teaching students with special education needs. Knowledge of IEP development and implementation. Experience in therapeutic, alternative, or special education school settings. Familiarity with trauma-informed educational practices.
