Qualifications:
State certification as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, or eligibility for certification Strong understanding of various communication modes (American Sign Language, spoken English, etc.) Experience working with students with varying degrees of hearing loss Ability to adapt and differentiate instruction to meet individualized education plan (IEP) goals Excellent collaboration and communication skills with both staff and families Previous experience in a school-based setting is highly valued
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and evaluate IEPs tailored for each students unique needs Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction in both individual and group settings Collaborate with classroom teachers, related service providers, and parents to promote inclusive educational practices Advocate for accessibility and accommodations that remove barriers to student success Provide consultative support for staff on strategies for working with deaf and hard of hearing students Monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed to ensure academic and social-emotional growth Youll become a valued advocate and resource, bridging gaps in communication and helping every student find their voice.
