YOUR IMPACT
The Special Education Teacher will provide specialized instruction and support across a variety of programs within Waltham Public Schools. We currently have 9 openings serving students from elementary through high school, including substantially separate behavioral and autism programs, an 18-22 transition program, and middle and high school positions. Responsibilities include developing and implementing individualized instruction and IEPs, monitoring and assessing student progress, and collaborating with educators, related service providers, and families to support students' academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and functional growth.
WHAT YOU NEED
Valid Massachusetts Teaching License with Special Education (Moderate Disabilities) certification Eligible to teach in MA through DESE Master's Degree and certification SEI endorsement Experience in inclusion or Special needs classrooms Designs & delivers individualized instruction for students with disabilities Knowledge of MA Special Education laws and IEP development Classroom experience MondayFriday, structured setting Experience with students who are nonverbal, on the autism spectrum, prone to tantrums, runners, or wheelchairbound preferred Ready to make a difference?
