Elementary
Position Summary:
Wayland Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and nurturing Teacher to join our team. This role is ideal for an educator who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about supporting the academic, social, and emotional growth of our youngest learners. Key Duties and Responsibilities (Not limited to): Design and deliver high-quality instruction in literacy, mathematics, science, social studies, and SEL Create engaging, student-centered lessons that promote critical thinking and curiosity Differentiate instruction to meet diverse academic, social, and emotional learning needs Use formal and informal assessments to monitor progress and inform instruction Maintain high expectations for all students while providing appropriate supports for growth Foster an inclusive, respectful classroom environment that promotes belonging and collaboration Support students' social-emotional development and positive peer interactions Promote equitable access to learning opportunities for all students Collaborate with grade-level teams, specialists, and support staff to plan and support instruction Partner with special education, ESL, counseling, and administration as needed Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and well-being Participate in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and grade-level team meetings Engage in ongoing professional learning to stay current with best practices Contribute to school and district initiatives focused on equity, belonging, and academic excellence
Qualifications and Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred
Experience:
Experience supporting students with diverse disabilities in public school settings, including academic, social-emotional, behavioral, and executive functioning needs
Cultural Competency:
Experience with diverse populations and a strong commitment to Wayland's goals of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
DESE Licensure:
Must hold valid Massachusetts licensure in: PK-2 or 1-6 (appropriate grade level). Dual licensure (Reading, Special Education, ESL) highly desirabl
SEI Endorsement:
Evidence of Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) Endorsement is mandatory.
Salary Range:
Commensurate with the
WEA Unit A Salary Scale Example:
Master's through Master's +30 range $95,754 - $126,651
Work Schedule:
