Aug 31, 2026 Job Description The following position is available in the West Springfield Public School system beginning with the 2026/2027 school year: Special Education Teacher- CLEAR Program Coburn Elementary School We are looking for a teacher with experience teaching students with an Autism Spectrum Disorder.
- As an Special Education Teacher, you would be in a classroom to support students with both group work and individually in our 1:1
- or 2:1 student to staff ratio classroom
- In addition to working with students, there will be time devoted to training, meetings and student case management to best support the students we serve working with the BCBA and other staff professionals
- Implement teaching protocols and behavior support plans
- Work in a fast-paced educational environment
- Deliver student instruction using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis
- Assist paraprofessionals in the implementation of student specific instructional programs.
- Oversee the recording and analyzing of data
- Provide case management
- Manage behavioral crisis and interventions
- Depending on grade level MCAS portfolios will be required and a solid knowledge of MCAS Portfolio development will be required (there is training on this)
Qualifications:
Moderate to Severe Special Needs PreK-8 DESE
certification- A strong background in working with students with Autism is preferred.
- SEI Endorsement Safety Care Training will be provided by the district.
Schedule:
Full-time, 10 months, during the school year.Salary:
Per Unit A Contract (salary range: $53,939.00- $100,108.
