Ideal candidates hold a valid MA SPED license for Moderate Disabilities (grades 5-8) and possess the Sheltered English Immersion Endorsement. Previous experience with the Wilson Reading Program is highly desirable. While a Reading Specialist certification is preferred, it is not required. Being collaborative, creative, and dedicated to tailored learning will serve you well in this role.
Key qualifications and experience:
MA SPED license for Moderate Disabilities (5-8) Sheltered English Immersion Endorsement Experience supporting students with language-based disabilities Familiarity with the Wilson Reading Program (preferred) Reading Specialist certification (preferred but not mandatory) Ability to provide direct reading instruction, IEP services, and inclusion support Skilled in lesson planning and co-planning with colleagues Strong communication and organizational abilities Primary responsibilities: Deliver targeted, evidence-based reading instruction to middle school students Provide IEP-driven services, accommodations, and support in inclusive settings Participate actively in planning, co-planning, and progress monitoring Collaborate with general education staff to facilitate student integration Adapt and scaffold lessons to meet diverse learner needs Maintain thorough, ongoing documentation and communication about student progress In this contract position, you'll encounter a supportive, student-centered environment and have the opportunity to work with dedicated educators.
