REPORTS TO:
Building Principal The position of Teacher
  • Diesel Technology is currently available at South High School.
This is a Chapter 74 position
ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE
This individual is accountable for teaching and supervision of students in the Diesel Technology state frameworks and curriculum disciplines under the direction of the Automotive Department Head.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
(to be included along with other responsibilities) 1. Responsible for the implementation of departmental curriculum objectives based on State of Massachusetts VTE frameworks Diesel Technology. 2. Responsible for the integration of the department's curriculum where appropriate. 3. Responsible for assuring equal educational opportunity to all individuals regardless of race, color, gender, age, religion, national origin, gender identity, marital status, sexual orientation, disability or homelessness. 4. Performance of other job-related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Massachusetts teacher's approval (Chapter 74) in Diesel Technology or ability to obtain within 1 year from hire. 2. Bachelor's Degree 3. SEI Endorsement 4.
ASE/NATEF
Certifications in Diesel. 5. Minimum 5 years fulltime experience in Diesel Technology. 6. Knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations. 7. Evidence of good human relation skills. 8. Competent in computer applications.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Demonstrated experience supporting students with special needs. 2. Ability to speak Albanian, Arabic, Nepali, Portuguese, Spanish, Vietnamese or an African Language. 3. Demonstrated experience with second language acquisition.

SALARY:
Salary scale shown is based on the candidate holding a Bachelor's Degree with the potential to increase dependent on the highest level of education.
