Job Description

Empower students by supporting their educational journey as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired, working with K-12 learners in a dynamic itinerant setting. This rewarding contract position includes engaging with students across elementary, middle, and high school levels, providing direct service to approximately 10 students with visual impairments. The assignment is scheduled to start as soon as possible and will continue through June 11, 2027, offering stability and the opportunity to make a sustained impact. In this role, you'll collaborate with educators and families to tailor instruction, ensuring each student receives personalized support. Your passion for accessible education and adaptive strategies will help students achieve their fullest potential.

Qualifications & Experience:

Current Maryland licensure as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) is required. Experience working in a K-12 environment. Strong ability to work independently in an itinerant capacity, supporting multiple schools. Effective communication skills with students, families, and colleagues. Commitment to individualized instruction and advocacy for students with visual impairments.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide direct instruction and specialized support to approximately 10 students with visual impairments. Travel between elementary, middle, and high schools to deliver services based on student needs. Collaborate in IEP development and monitor student progress. Consult with classroom teachers and staff on appropriate modifications and accommodations. Utilize a variety of assistive materials, Braille, and technology to promote academic success.
