What they do

A Special Education Teacher teaches students who have disabilities, and adapts teaching methods to meet the needs of students. Assesses students and helps to develop individualized education plans that specify the services and accommodations needed for each student. Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.

•Celebrate Ability provides autism waiver services to school age participants in their homes and communities . This is an after school and weekend position in
FREDERICK COUNTY.
Responsibilities of Autism Support Staff:
Assist clients in activities of daily living and personal hygiene, communication and socialization Help clients manage their own behavior and teach them appropriate alternative behaviors Encourage and participate in recreational activities with clients Keep accurate time sheet logs and session notes
Eligibility Requirements of Autism Support Staff:
Minimum 1 year direct autism experience Must have personal transportation Must pass state and federal background check
Job Type:
Part-time Pay:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 5.0 - 25.0 per week
