About Us For over 30 years, WeeCare Inc./Children's World has been providing high-quality early childhood education and care to families in Walkersville, Maryland. We serve children ages 18 months through 12 years and are licensed by the Maryland State Department of Education, Office of Child Care, and regulated under
COMAR 13A.16.

Our program utilizes a combination of established curricula and teacher-created activities to support children's development in language and literacy, mathematics, science, sensory exploration, creativity, social-emotional learning, physical development, and overall school readiness. Position Summary We are seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Lead Teacher to join our team immediately. This position may be filled by a qualified teacher seeking summer employment or by a candidate interested in a full-time, long-term opportunity. The ideal candidate is passionate about working with children, committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment, and able to create engaging learning experiences that support each child's individual development. Training CPR and First Aid Certification ADA Training Approved 9-Hour Communication Course Supporting Breastfeeding Practices Training Ability to pass criminal background checks and child abuse/neglect clearances Current physical examination as required by licensing regulations Van driving experience preferred Flexible and reliable attendance Responsibilities Provide a safe, positive, and nurturing environment for all children Supervise and engage children in age-appropriate activities throughout the day Support children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development Implement curriculum and create engaging lesson plans based on children's interests and developmental needs Complete observations, developmental assessments, and required documentation Maintain daily classroom records and communication with families Use positive behavior management techniques, including redirection, problem-solving, reflection, and offering choices Foster a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment that respects all children and families Assist with diapering, toileting, handwashing, meals, and other daily care routines Serve meals and snacks in accordance with CACFP guidelines Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized classroom environment Communicate professionally and effectively with parents, children, and coworkers Attend staff meetings, trainings, conferences, and professional development opportunities Follow all licensing regulations, center policies, and safety procedures Perform other duties as assigned Benefits Full-time and part-time schedules available Paid Time Off (PTO) Select paid holidays Supportive team environment Opportunities for professional growth and training
