Deliver engaging instruction aligned with student IEPs and individual learning needs. Develop lesson plans, assignments, and classroom materials that promote student growth. Monitor and document academic and behavioral progress. Use positive behavior interventions and proactive classroom management strategies. Create a safe, structured, therapeutic, and engaging learning environment. Supervise and provide instructional guidance to Teaching Assistants and Behavioral Specialists. Collaborate with families, educators, behavioral health professionals, and other interdisciplinary team members. Participate in team meetings and contribute to individualized strategies that support student success. Maintain accurate educational records, grade books, progress reports, and other required documentation. Utilize de-escalation and crisis-intervention strategies when needed. Maryland teaching certification in Special Education appropriate for the assignment OR eligibility to pursue certification through an approved pathway. A qualifying bachelor's degree in Education or a related field that prepares you to work with children and adolescents. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to organize and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. Current BLS/CPR and First Aid certification, or ability to obtain upon hire. Valid driver's license in your state of residence. Experience working with children or adolescents with behavioral, emotional, developmental, or learning needs. Experience in education, behavioral health, human services, social services, youth programs, or a related setting. Knowledge of differentiated instruction, learning theory, developmental reading, educational assessment, or positive behavior supports. Special Education or applicable content-area certification.
