Job Description

Middle School Science Teacher Garrison Forest School is seeking a creative and dynamic individual for a full-time faculty position in our Middle School as a Science Teacher commencing August 2026. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic educator who brings an energetic and contemporary approach to science education. This position reports to the Head of the Middle School and meets with the Science Department Chair. The annual salary range for this position is $45,000-$75,00 based on years of experience and education level; the exact compensation will be discussed during the hiring process. • This is a one-year position •.
Major duties and responsibilities include:
Teach multiple grades of science in the Middle School (6 th -8 th ) with a course-load that could include some combination of Environmental Engineering, Life Science or Physical Science. Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of curriculum and subject matter. Serve as an advisor to a group of Middle School students in one particular grade level. Work alongside the Middle School Administrative team to build a meaningful learning experience for students. Work alongside grade level teams to build cross-curricular connections and interdisciplinary projects. Create a secure and stimulating environment in which students grow in both autonomy and the ability to work and interact together. Take responsibility for being a role model by maintaining an environment that fosters respect among students and colleagues. Possess strong communication skills, a patient and thorough understanding of early adolescence and the ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues. Contribute to the life of the School by chaperoning Middle School field trips.
Qualifications:
B.A. degree or equivalent - Master's degree desirable Prior experience working with middle school children in a school GFS seeks candidates who will contribute to and are committed to diversity and multicultural educational practices.
