Category Schools - Deaf / Hard of Hearing Specialist Job Type Contract An exciting opportunity is available for a skilled Deaf / Hard of Hearing Specialist to provide essential support and instruction in a school setting in Salisbury, MD. This contract position is ideal for a dedicated educator ready to step in for a teacher on leave, delivering specialized teaching services to students with hearing impairments.
Responsibilities include:
Delivering tailored instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, ensuring their academic and social success. Collaborating with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs). Utilizing specialized strategies and resources to enhance communication and learning for students with hearing loss. Monitoring student progress and adjusting methods to meet evolving needs. Participating in team meetings and maintaining accurate documentation related to student performance and services.Qualifications and experience:
Certification or licensure as a Teacher for the Deaf / Hard of Hearing. Experience working directly with students who are deaf or hard of hearing in an educational setting. Strong communication skills, both with students and colleagues. Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment. Familiarity with assistive technology and resources used in deaf education is highly preferred.Location:
Salisbury, MD (on-site position in a school environment). This contract role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact by supporting students during a key period while the primary teacher is on leave.
