KinderCare is seeking a Senior Teacher for our Eldersburg center to lead a high-quality early childhood classroom. The Senior Teacher designs and delivers developmentally appropriate curriculum, fosters a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment, and models best practices in child-centered learning. This role assesses children's progress, partners closely with families, and mentors assistant teachers. The Senior Teacher ensures compliance with state licensing standards while contributing to a collaborative, growth-oriented culture that supports children's social, emotional, and academic development. Responsibilities Lead an early childhood classroom, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment Plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum and daily activities Assess children's developmental progress and communicate regularly with families Mentor and support assistant teachers and classroom staff Maintain compliance with state childcare regulations and center policies Collaborate with center leadership on program improvement and family engagement Manage classroom routines, behavior guidance, and transitions effectively Document attendance, incidents, and developmental milestones accurately Required Skills Curriculum planning and implementation Early childhood classroom management Child development assessment and documentation Parent and family communication Knowledge of state childcare licensing regulations CPR and First Aid skills Behavior guidance and positive discipline techniques Team leadership and staff mentoring Health, safety, and sanitation practices in childcare settings Record-keeping and compliance documentation
