Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a meaningful opportunity supporting students as a Special Education Teacher in a contract role for an ESY (Extended School Year) program near Auburn, ME. Two positions are available, working in-person with high school students. The ESY program runs Monday through Thursday, from 8:00am until 12:00pm, offering a rewarding part-time schedule for the summer term.
Qualifications and Experience:
Active Maine (ME) Special Education Teacher license required Prior experience working with high school students preferred Familiarity with ESY program structure is a plus Strong communication and collaboration skills Ability to adapt lessons and instructional strategies to student needs Dedicated, compassionate, and organized approach
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct instruction to high school students with special needs in accordance with their IEPs Collaborate with ESY staff and related service providers to ensure continuity of services Develop and implement engaging lesson plans tailored to student goals Track student progress and maintain accurate documentation Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment
