  • Special Education Teachers July 6

  • Thurs. 8:00
  • 12:00 Position Purpose To maximize the learning experience of students with special needs, in academics, interpersonal skills and activities of daily living by implementing district approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress/activities, outcomes; addressing students' specific needs; providing a safe and optimal learning environment.

Certification/License:
  • State Certification as a Special Education Teacher.
Maine DOE 286 or 282
Education:
  • Bachelors from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
Experience:
  • Successful prior special education teaching experience for the appropriate grade level preferred.
  • Experience with students with moderate and severe disabilities. ABA and positive behavior support training is required.
  • Organizational skill and ability to lead a large team and work cooperatively with others.
