It has 118 students in grades PK, K-5 with a student-teacher ratio of 10 to 1.
Job responsbilities may include:
Provide direct academic and social emotional support to students in individual, small-group, and classroom settings. Reinforce instructional concepts and learning objectives in literacy, mathematics, and other content areas. Assist students in completing assignments, organizing materials, and developing effective study and learning strategies. Adapt instructional materials and activities to meet diverse learning needs and abilities. Collaborate and communicate with staff on the monitoring and documenting of student progress, academic performance, and behavioral growth. Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that promotes student engagement and success. Build positive, trusting relationships with students to encourage confidence, resilience, and self-advocacy skills. Provide social and emotional support by helping students develop self-regulation, problem-solving, conflict-resolution, and interpersonal skills. Assist students in managing emotions, navigating peer relationships, and responding appropriately to social situations. Support positive behavior interventions and reinforce classroom expectations and school-wide behavioral goals. Collaborate with teachers, counselors, special educators, administrators, and families to support students' academic and social/emotional development. Supervise students during classroom activities, transitions, lunch, recess, field trips, and other school-related functions as assigned. Maintain confidentiality of student information in accordance with school policies and applicable regulations. Participate in professional development opportunities and team meetings to enhance student support practices. Perform other duties as assigned to support the educational, behavioral, and emotional needs of students. Other job-related duties as assigned by the Building Leader or designee.
Certification/License:
Certification as an Education Technician from the Maine Department of Education Criminal History Record Check (CHRC), which includes Fingerprints on file with the
