Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into an impactful role supporting students as a Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. Located near Brunswick, ME, this full-time, contract opportunity welcomes both local educators and travelers seeking a rewarding experience in a vibrant educational environment. Leverage your expertise to guide and inspire students with varying needs. The position offers flexibility to align the caseload with your background—whether that's leading a resource-style classroom with 15-20 students or providing 1:1 instruction and case management for up to 8-10 students. What we're looking for: Valid Maine Special Education (282) Teaching License Experience in a school-based setting, preferably as a Special Education Teacher Commitment to fostering an inclusive, accessible, and positive learning atmosphere Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues Open to collaborating with multidisciplinary teams Key responsibilities will include: Developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs Delivering instruction in resource classrooms or 1:1 environments, based on your background Monitoring student progress and adjusting educational strategies as necessary Coordinating with related service providers and support staff Participating in IEP meetings and maintaining accurate documentation Advocating for the needs and rights of students Take advantage of this rewarding full-time position, working 35-40 hours per week in a contract role within an energized and welcoming school community.
