Position Overview:
The Special Education Teacher will work with students in grades 3 - 5 who require additional academic support, executive functioning support, and behavioral needs. You will play a key role in designing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs), while working closely with general education teachers to ensure successful integration of students into the general education classroom. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with a supportive team and engage in the coaching and modeling of skills and strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that address the specific needs of students Provide direct instruction and support to students in small group and individualized settings Collaborate closely with general education teachers to create inclusive, differentiated learning environments Model and coach general education teachers in implementing strategies and interventions for students with diverse needs in the classroom Use evidence-based practices to promote student engagement, self-regulation, and academic success Monitor student progress, track data, and adjust instructional methods based on individual needs and goals. Act as a resource for staff in implementing accommodations, behavior management strategies and supporting students' social-emotional development Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to provide updates on student progress and collaborate on strategies for home support Participate in IEP meetings, professional development sessions, and school-wide activities
