Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Soliant Education is seeking a Michigan-certified Special Education Teacher for a short-term elementary assignment. This is a strong opportunity for a SPED teacher looking for a manageable K-2 classroom with substantial paraprofessional support. Position Highlights K-2 Cross-Categorical Classroom Caseload capped at 15 students 3 paraprofessionals assigned to the classroom 50-minute daily prep period 40-minute uninterrupted, duty-free lunch Classes run 8:30 AM-3:30 PM Monday-Friday Responsibilities Deliver specialized instruction aligned with IEP goals Manage IEPs, progress monitoring, and required documentation Lead and collaborate with classroom paraprofessionals Work alongside therapists and other school-based professionals Maintain a structured and supportive learning environment Utilize AAC and communication supports as appropriate Qualifications Active Michigan Special Education Certification required Elementary Special Education experience preferred Cross-categorical classroom experience preferred AAC experience is a plus Familiarity with TD Snap or AAC iPad applications is a plus This assignment is ideal for a qualified Michigan SPED teacher who wants a small elementary caseload, three classroom aides, dedicated planning time, and a defined short-term commitment.
